Just started watching Something in the Rain! Son Ye Jin’s comeback after 5 years!

It’s been five years since Son Ye Jin’s last drama! But it was in 2011’s Personal Taste (she stars with Lee Min Ho) that I first saw her. She’s one of the great actresses in the industry (I could see that even from just one drama, but countless references in other dramas) and I’m so glad to have her back in such a fun young man and noona drama.

It seems I can always manage to find a theme song for her dramas. I picked Taylor Swift’s Stay for Personal Taste

And now, I pick Lee Seung Gi’s Because You’re My Woman for Something in the Rain:

I’ve only watched 3 episodes so far but after Ep 3’s ending (the hidden holding handssss… scene) I am all in!!

I love Jung Hae In got his main role after his break as a second male lead opposite Suzy and Lee Jong Suk in While You Were Sleeping.

First Impressions: What’s Wrong with Secretary Kim (Park Min Young + Park Seo Joon)

OMG OMG – so excited for this. I can’t believe I’ve forgotten how beautiful Park Min Young is – we’re all convinced she dated Lee Min Ho back in the day right? I watched her last in Remember opposite Yoo Seung Ho and Healer opposite Ji Chang Wook (which is well-documented on this blog, haha!) But those last two roles never really lived up to her role as Kim Nana in City Hunter. Her role as Secretary Kim – from what I’ve seen so far – is giving me great vibes! It’s totally embracing her beautiful looks – long hair, beautiful smile, and perfect figure!

Meanwhile, I’ve only seen Park Seo Joon in Fight for My Way opposite Kim Ji Won – and I loved him! I heard he’s receiving a lot of criticisms for this role because of his looks, but I think that he can totally own this role! Not that I didn’t think for a second I wish Lee Min Ho was playing this role – but only because the chemistry between PMY and LMH is tried and tested.

Anyway – I have such HIGH expectations for this one!!!! So excited – the pacing is so fast so far.

Chao for now!

Reunited Worlds: super intriguing + Ahn Jae Hyun is back!

Last night, I decided to watch Reunited Worlds starring Yeo Jin Goo, Lee Yeon Hee, and Ahn Jae Hyun. I’m already on Episode 6 on Dramafever and I love it! It’s so interesting and unique, and even though I would love for Lee Yeon Hee to have a happy ending with Yeo Jin Goo, I wouldn’t mind for her to end up with Ahn Jae Hyun AT ALL!

I’ve been watching Yeo Jin Goo since he was young – I loved his portrayal of the young Baek Dong Soo (who later grows up to be Ji Chang Wook) in Warrior Baek Dong-soo, and of course, I loved him opposite the pretty Seolhyun in Orange Marmalade!

I first saw Lee Yeon Hee in Gu Family Book playing the mother of Lee Seung Gi’s character. Later, I liked her when I watched Miss Korea. Her beauty is so simple, but yet have a classic look. I’m so glad I get to see her in another drama.

And I’ve loved Ahn Jae Hyun since My Love From Another Star and then Blood (opposite his now lovely wife, Ku Hye Sun). If not for Yeo Jin Goo playing the main role, I would have been really sad to see AJH play a second male lead role. But as I slowly go through Reunited Worlds, I’m seeing that the plot is giving his character justice, and I wouldn’t be surprised at all if he somehow gets the girl in the end.

So far, I’m really loving it. It’s so intriguing. I’m so curious to find out how Sung Hae Sung (YJG’s character) managed to come back – doesn’t seem like he’s the only one!

That’s it for now. Will be back for more later!

Playful Kiss’ Bong Joon Gu is back!

I’m almost all caught up with all released episodes of Miss Hammurabi – and I just realized one of the supporting cast looked so familiar! Well, it’s no wonder! It’s my beloved Bong Jooon Gu of Playful Kiss. He played the beloved second male lead you can’t help but adore. I’m so glad I get to see Lee Tae Sung (I didn’t even know his name, but he made such an impression on me) again…

His identity in Miss Hammurabi is quite a mystery still, but I’m thinking he’s Go Ara’s character’s big brother? If he’s a prospective love interest, you won’t hear any complaints from me either. I have to say…. those suits suit him well 😉

If all goes well, I’m pretty sure I’ll have a lot to say soon. There’s no turning back now.

omo… that cheesecake scene!

So still watching Miss Hammurabi and I’m so hooked!!!

I LOVE L & GO ARA!

And I’m screaming inside at the cheesecake scene – you’ll know what I mean when you get there 😉

OMG, new OTP couple. I can’t wait to witness more developments in the romance department. These two are so cute together!

Okay, I’ll be back for more short updates later….

First impressions: MISS HAMMURABI – L finally gets a lead role.

OMO! It’s been such a long time since I last blogged!

Hope you’re all doing well.

I haven’t been watching K-Dramas as often lately, but I watch a couple of episodes here and there (sorry! I didn’t get to blog about them!)

If you’re curious, here’s a short list of shows I’ve seen/been watching lately:

  • Murphy’s Law of Love – what a beautiful cast!! I love it! Left off of the drama for a while but saw it’s now on Netflix 😀
  • Hwayugi – Lee Seung Gi is back and I went crazy for a while, but I’m not sure why I get tired of Oh Yoon Seo’s roles…. I’m stuck on Ep 12… need to get back to it soon.
  • I’m Not a Robot – and yes, I ship Yoo Seung Ho and Chae Soo Bin. I’ve seen Seung Ho in so many dramas (he’s one of my top 10 faves!!) but I haven’t shipped him hard with anyone yet so Soo Bin is the first!!! I’m waiting for the dating rumors, lol.

Turns out there’s a new drama that might possibly steal my heart once again: Miss Hammurabi – starring L (Kim Myung Soo) and  Go Ara.

Since My Lovely Girl – I’ve been hoping for a lead role for L. I even watched Cunning Single Lady after I found out he had a minor role. FINALLY, he got it. So far (I’m only about halfway through ep 1), it looks like the role is a perfect fit!

I’m so excited that he’s paired with the beautiful Go Ara, who I first discovered on You’re All Surrounded (starring opposite Lee Seung Gi).

Miss Hammurabi looks very promising! I can’t wait to dive further 😉

Thanks for stopping by! Till next time!

I love you, Goblin.

As expected from all the built-up anticipation and the overwhelming positive reaction from Gong Yoo’s fans, Goblin does not disappoint.

At first, I was a little doubtful about Kim Go Eun’s role, but she wiped all those doubts away from the moment she came on screen. It also doesn’t hurt that the girl who played the younger version of her character was lovable. And straight, black hair suits her much better than the curly, flame orange hair she sported in Cheese in the Trap. A fan favorite scene from Goblin‘s first episode would, of course, be the moment when Kim Go Eun come to a conclusion to want to marry the Goblin, and professes desire with the appropriate 3 words: I love you – all complete with a wide, close-eyed, goofy, and adorably childish smile Kim Go Eun is known to pull so effortlessly.

So far, I’m loving all the characters. It’s a nice surprise to see School 2015‘s second male lead again as Gong Yoo’s rude and overbearing “nephew.”

There’s bromance brooding and much to look forward to between the Goblin and the Grim Reaper. I’ve got to say that this is my favorite Lee Dong Wook’s character yet – it fits him to a T – dark and mysterious and sarcastic. He has such dark facial expressions that there’s no role to fit him so well as Death itself.

Let’s Fight Ghost OTP

Finally falling asleep at 4am in the morning is bittersweet when you’ve just finished watching Let’s Fight Ghost‘s last episode. I am so happy that it had a perfect ending and tied almost all loose ends (except I didn’t get the significance of Soo Yeon-sunbae’s character, but maybe there doesn’t need to be and it’s not really that important, so no biggie).

I cannot begin to describe the incredible chemistry between Taecyeon and Kim So Hyun – considering the fact that somewhere between them is an 11-year age gap…. oh please, I’m hopeful for a comeback drama of the OTP when dating rumors between the two no longer feels like a crime. I will definitely be waiting. For now, I’ll try to forget about my withdrawals from the show by writing this blog post.

Let’s Fight Ghost is packed with romance, comedy, action, horror, and drama, but at the end of the day, it still doesn’t feel like overdoing it. I grew to love every single one of the characters, so there really weren’t any painful moment to watch and I definitely did not resent any of the characters’ screen time. As I love with Bong Pal and Hyun Ji, I laughed at Cheon Sang and In Rang, girl-crushed on Soo Yeon, ate with Monk Myung Cheol, and was charmed by Professor Ju Hye Sung. Kwon Yool did an exceptional job as a villain/universal charmer – he had just the perfect face to look both creepy/scary and swoonworthy handsome and charming. The show is definitely on my list of top favorites: Must Watch K-Dramas.

I’ve also developed  a new crush on Taecyeon, so I’m happy I will be seeing him on the upcoming drama, Seven First Kisses – though I probably would not appreciate it very much to watch him kissing any other girl besides Kim So Hyun.

The Legend of the Blue Sea – First Impressions

It might just be the cold weather, but The Legend of the Blue Sea’s first episode gave me the goose bumps. Or maybe seeing Lee Min Ho again after such a long time will do that to you. Honestly, I wasn’t expecting much chemistry between Jeon Ji Hyun and Lee Min Ho, but once again, I’m pleasantly surprised. I’m glad that it doesn’t seem to be turning out like the too-overwhelming pairing between Lee Min Ho and Park Shin Hye (maybe because they were too popular and both were too good-looking, although that worked out VERY well in Lee Jong Seok’s case).

Jeon Ji Hyun definitely fits her character as a stunning and innocently hilarious mermaid. After watching her as the pompous but lovable top star, Cheon Song Yi, opposite Kim Soo Hyun in My Love from Another Star, everyone has been patiently awaiting her comeback – and it seems that she has made the right choice.

The plot is very promising. I love the historical blend in the beginning that was also tied into the last scene of the first episode. In only its first episode, the new drama has already created an iconic moment between the destined lovers – her hand reaching out to his.

Goodbye again, Lee Joon Gi

Yesterday, I got home and was really excited to watch another newly released episode of Scarlet Heart… only too late to realize that I will be watching the final episode (usually I try to prepare myself). I had been too busy to keep count of the episodes, thinking that perhaps the set number of episodes is 24.. a grievous error on my part.

The resolution was quite reasonable, and summoned a few (several, really, if I’m to be completely honest) here and there. IU’s return to the modern era was quite predictable, though not the part when she actually remembers the past and that even then a modern Lee Joon Gi a.k.a. Prince Wang So a.k.a. King Gwangjong did not make an appearance. Theirs is truly a heartrending romance and I just wish that the ending wasn’t quite so sad. I know everyone will be waiting for a sequel, a rarity in the K-drama world as you and I know too well, especially after that last scene of Lee Joon Gi’s intense look when he declared that he will find Hae Soo wherever world she’s in.

It will be quite a turn if a sequel is made and set in the modern era.. it’s been a while since I’ve seen Lee Joon Gi in a modern setting (since Hero where I discovered Ji Chang Wook, and not to neglect where I first laid eyes on him and my heart bled for my first true second male lead in My Girl).

And this post is not going to end without mention of IU’s unbelievable chemistry with every single one of the princes, not to mention, her enviable chemistry with Lee Joon Gi (even IRL, remember her birthday present from him this year?) Their story was set in a way that my mind was somehow fooled into feeling that Lee Joon Gi is the second male lead so I ended up rooting for him (I always end up doing that!)

I want to talk about so many other things, but unfortunately, my time as well as your attention, is short.. so I’ll sign off here.

And now… let’s just all wait and long for hard enough for that anticipated sequel!!!
